GENDER RESPONSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT
Journey of Hope utilizes gender responsive case management to help women choose a safe path of success while living in the community. Gender Responsive Case Management is individually focused, trauma informed, culturally responsive, strength based, and seeks to address the economic, education, vocation, and resource needs of the women we serve. We serve as a guide to help them navigate complicated justice, social service, employment, and education systems in this community.
GENDER RESPONSIVE MENTORING
We train volunteers (including peers) to use gender-responsive, trauma-informed approaches to support the women and girls we serve. The Prison mentoring program (HOPE Program) begins three to six months before release from prison, and continues for approximately one year after release. We also utilize trained volunteer mentors to help women transition from community correctional facilities, inpatient programs, sober houses, domestic violence housing, and those exiting trafficking.
We offer women in the Utah State Prison. Journey of Hope’s Transition Class teaches women about the tools needed to make a successful transition from prison to life outside of prison walls.
We offer an on-site computer lab that our clients can use to look for housing and work opportunities, free printing, and other internet-related services.
We have partnered with over a hundred community agencies to advocate, support, and educate our women and their children in this community.
